After various advocacy efforts performed by EUMCCI together with colleagues from our bilateral chambers, we are glad that YB Dato' Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, Senior Minister of Defence, announced that Expatriates in the Employment Pass 1 (EP1) category are now allowed to enter Malaysia without prior approval from the Immigration Department, during a Press Conference today afternoon.

Furthermore, technical specialists for specialised work are also allowed to enter Malaysia by applying a Professional Visit Pass via Expatriate Services Division online.

However, certain SOPs need to be complied:

- To undergo Covid-19 swab test (at home country or upon arrival in Malaysia)

- For negative test result, no quarantine required if departed from countries in the green zone; if from countries in the red zone, 14-days home quarantine is compulsory
