2020 EU-ASEAN Business Sentiment Survey Report

On behalf of our EBO partner EU-Asean Business Council, we are glad to present you the latest published 2020 EU-ASEAN Business Sentiment Survey and would like to extend our greatest appreciation to EUROCHAM members who participated in this exercise.

 

2020 key findings as below:

  • Current business environment and outlook impacted by COVID-19
  • Nearly half (47%) of the respondents are considering reorganising supply chains moving forward, preferred locations for supply chain relocations: ASEAN (34%), Europe (20%) and China (17%)
  • 98% of the respondents would like the EU to accelerate FTA negotiations with ASEAN and its members (2019: 96%)
  • Majority of the respondents feel that ASEAN Economic Integration is stalled
  • More private sector engagement required on government consultation and competition issues
