On the 21st of March 2023, EUROCHAM Malaysia was invited to a second-round session of the Malaysia Productivity Corporation's (MPC) workshop to enhance the efficiency of expatriates' work permits in Malaysia, which was conducted in Hotel Hilton Petaling Jaya. The workshop began with the opening remarks from The Honourable Y.Bhg Dato' Ts. All of the concerns raised are being taken into consideration by MPC, MDEC and other government agencies, who will then present these concerns to the Federal Government. Celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, Ireland with EU in Malaysia

A successful and joyous St Patrick’s Day Breakfast celebration in collaboration with our fellow bilateral chamber, the Irish Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia (ICCM) was held last week. The celebration was focused on the St. Patrick’s Day Celebration, in Ireland with the EU in Malaysia.

The breakfast celebration was welcomed by Mr Donal Crotty, Chairman and CEO of the Irish Chamber of Commerce Malaysia (ICCM), as he opened the event with a colourful and delightful speech to start the celebration. The floor was then passed to Mr Oliver Roche, Chairman of EUROCHAM Malaysia to share an introduction to EUROCHAM Malaysia and bring the context of Ireland with the EU in Malaysia. The event proceeded with an introduction and speech by our Guest of Honour, H.E. Hillary Reilly, Ambassador of Ireland to Malaysia. The St. Patrick’s Day breakfast celebration was then graced by the presence and a keynote address by Mr Niall Collins T.D., Minister of State at the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science with Special Responsibility for Skills and Further Education.

The breakfast celebration would not have been a success if not for the Platinum sponsor, Hansel and Gretel Experience Driven School, in attendance on behalf of Hansel and Gretel was Mr Andrew Chong, Finance & Strategic Development, who is also the Deputy Head of our Education Sector Committee. EUROCHAM Malaysia garnered support from our fellow bilateral chambers and strategic partner, which brought an additional European element to the event. Special thanks to Mr Vincent Borgne, President of BeLuxCham Malaysia, Ms Jenny Westin, Director of the Malaysian-Swedish Business Association, Mr Daniel Bernbeck, Executive Director of the Malaysian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Ms Renata Brandstatterova, Trade and Economic Counsellor of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Kuala Lumpur.
