On behalf of our fellow member Knight Frank, we would like to share that Knight Frank recently participated in the 2022 National Real Estate Awards (NREA) of the Malaysian Institute of Estate Agents (MIEA) and won the category of Commercial Real Estate Firm of the Year.

Congratulations to Knight Frank and the commercial team for winning the category of Commercial Real Estate Firm of the Year. It must be such an honour to have won an outstanding award, as it elevates and highlights Knight Frank’s professional and industrial milestones.

EUROCHAM Malaysia is collaborating with the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) on a Hi-Tea session with our distinguished guest of honour, YBhg Dato' Sri Norazman Ayob, Deputy Secretary General (Industry), Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI).

During the Hi-Tea session, there will be a fireside chat on MITI's current policy agenda for 2022 and future plans for 2023.

EUROCHAM Malaysia attended the Budget 2023 Consultation that was held at the Ministry of Finance (MOF) on 23rd August 2022. The session was also attended by various sectors including private, education, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), international organisations (IOs), and civil society organisations who proposed the appropriate measures to be considered in the preparation of Budget 2023, which is expected to be tabled in October 2022.

The consultation included two sessions chaired by Deputy Finance Minister 1, Datuk Mohd Shahar Abdullah, and Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz respectively, and the closing speech by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

The MoU Signing ceremony aims to foster effective implementation of competition law and policy in Malaysia, particularly with regard to current trends in competition enforcement and international cooperation in the face of recent global challenges.

YAB Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, Prime Minister of Malaysia will be officiating the MoU Signing ceremony and will also feature highly respected local and internationally renowned moderators and panelists who will share, discuss, debate, and dissect significant new developments that will impact the future of competition law and the market in Malaysia.

The Economic Planning Unit (EPU) of the Prime Minister's Department will prepare a mid-term study on the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP) to assess and review the existing policies and targets.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Yaakob said it would be carried out between this September and September next year to ensure all development goals could be achieved.

He said Malaysia's performance for the 2022 Budget development expenditure performance stood at 50.35 per cent as at Aug 15, compared with 26.4 per cent on April 15.

He said unspent allocations must be returned to the Finance Ministry to be distributed to ministries in need of funds.
