[MEDIA STATEMENT] MALAYSIAN IMMIGRATION DEPARTMENT TO REVIEW MYTRAVELPASS CATEGORIES

A media statement has been issued by Senior Minister of Defence regarding Malaysian Immigration Department to Review Mytravelpass Categories – media statement as follows:

1. The Pandemic Management Special Committee meeting yesterday discussed on the public feedback and views on the MyTravelPass program under the Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) and is operated by the Malaysian Immigration Department (JIM).

2. Based on the discussion, I would like to inform that the National Council Security (NSC) has asked Malaysian Immigration Department to review categories of applications that can be granted permission directly without need to apply for approval through MyTravelPass.

3. Malaysia Immigration Department will present the proposal to the Technical Committee COVID-19 MKN (NSC).

A media statement has been issued by YAB Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob regarding Relaxation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Phase Transition – media statement as follows:

The Pandemic Management Special Committee meeting today agreed to provide flexibility to the following sectors:

i. New flexibility for the social/education sector in the states of NRP Phase 2 ONLY

 - Operation of the Air and Land Transport Sector Training Institute ALLOWED

ii. New flexibility for the social/education sector in the states of NRP Phases 1 and 2 ONLY

- Kindergartens, Nurseries, Day Care Centers, and Centers of Mind Development are ALLOWED to operate for children with working parents. Operators and workers in these centers are required to be fully vaccinated before being allowed to operate.
