EUROCHAM Malaysia 2022 New Year Networking event was a blast - started the new year with a bang!

We would like to thank His Excellency Mr. Michalis Rokas, Ambassador and Head of the European Union in Malaysia for graciously attending our event as well as providing us with a profound keynote.  Also, thank you to  Mr. Luciano Pezzota, Deputy Chairman of EUROCHAM Malaysia for opening the event with a truly outstanding and noteworthy opening remark. Together with EUROCHAM Malaysia CEO, Mr. Sven Schneider who delivered an uplifting and motivational speech. Special thanks too to the Board of Directors of EUROCHAM Malaysia who attended and provided a notably engaging presence.

The night would not have been the success it was if not for our main sponsor. On behalf of the Italy Malaysia Business Association, we would like to extend an invitation to EUROCHAM Malaysia members to the New Year Aperitivo! It will be their first physical event of the year, and it will be taking place at the 50|50 KL by Osteria Gamberoni on 26 January 2022 at 7 PM.

Celebrate the New Year with an evening of Aperitivo while mingling with our business community! An array of Italian finger foods and beverages will be served during the event. Please take note that the dress code for the event will be Smart Casual.

EUROCHAM Malaysia had a great meeting together with The Malaysia Competition Commission (MyCC) yesterday. We thank Mr. Iskandar Ismail, CEO of MyCC for welcoming and accommodating the EUROCHAM Malaysia team, led by Mr. Sven Schneider, CEO of EUROCHAM Malaysia to your esteemed office for an in-depth discussion on the way forward in creating value for the EU-MY business community through “Smart Partnership” initiatives.

EUROCHAM looks forward to more collaborative efforts, exploring opportunities as well as developing strategic plans and future engagement with MyCC by creating awareness in strengthening international cooperation with competition agencies in the EU through an array of promotion and advocacy programmes and campaigns.

On behalf of SIRIM QAS International, we would like to share the Guidelines for Importation and Inspection of Metal Scrap and Waste Paper January 2022; Edition No: 1 for the reference of EUROCHAM Malaysia members.

This guideline will include the scope of application, pre-conditions/ore-qualifiers for COA application, Procedure for importation and inspection of metal scrap and waste paper into Malaysia, SIRIM schedule of fees, as well as client charter, and glossary of terms.

We are pleased to share that EUROCHAM Malaysia together with the Embassy of the Kingdom of Belgium in Malaysia, Economic Planning Unit Sarawak Malaysia, and Belgium-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce would like to extend an invitation to all our members to participate in a jointly organised panel session on the Post COVID-19 Development Strategy 2030: Trade and Investment Opportunities in Sarawak, happening virtually Thursday, 13 January 2022 from 4 PM to 6 PM (+8 GMT).

This will be an interesting panel session where there will be a line-up of extraordinary panelists that includes, HE Mr. Pascal Gregoire, Ambassador of Belgium, Malaysia, Datu Dr. Muhammad Abdullah Zaidel, Director, Economic Planning Unit Sarawak, Datuk Abang Haji Abdul Karim bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg, President, Sarawak Business Federation, Mr. Daniel Pans, President of BeLuxCham Malaysia, Mr. Sven Schneider, Chief Executive Officer of EUROCHAM Malaysia, Mr. Hans Michiels, HLM International Sdn.
