Yesterday, EUROCHAM Malaysia had the privilege of participating in a meeting with the Parliamentary Special Select Committee on Infrastructure, Transportation, and Communication. Supported by representatives from our Automotive, Construction, and Digital Business sector committees, we enjoyed a highly productive discussion focused on the exciting opportunities and positive developments for the EU business community in Malaysia.

We’re optimistic about the outcomes of this session, which lays a strong foundation for further collaboration between EUROCHAM Malaysia and our Malaysian partners. This discussion marks a promising step towards ongoing cooperation and mutual growth.

Ipsos Malaysia, a fellow member of EUROCHAM Malaysia highlights in their recent study that growing optimism among Malaysians about the nation’s future, with 7 out of 10 citizens believing Malaysia is heading in the right direction—a 19% increase in the past year. 🇲🇾

Consumer confidence has surged by 12% since October 2023, and economic sentiment is on the rise. However, corruption and crime remain top concerns for Malaysians. Evelyn Tan, Interim Country Manager, emphasizes the need for continued public assurance to sustain this positive momentum.

EUROCHAM Malaysia congratulates our corporate partner, Progressture Solar, on its impactful collaboration with Shell Malaysia! Together, they’re launching Malaysia's largest solar rooftop deployment across Peninsular Malaysia and Borneo, installing up to 20 MWp of solar capacity across over 600 Shell retail stations nationwide.

By owning and operating the solar PV systems across Shell's stations, Progressture Solar will help Shell to generate up to 25,550 MWh of clean energy annually, reducing up to 19,366 tonnes of carbon emissions every year. This landmark initiative aligns with Shell’s Powering Progress strategy, contributing to its 50% reduction in Scopes 1 and 2 emissions by 2030 and net-zero target by 2050.
