With the recent opening of more retail sectors, the government is continuing with their efforts to allow more sectors to reopen while observing strict SOPs.

The Malaysian Government has agreed to vaccinate all foreign nationals residing in Malaysia for free to achieve collective herd immunity. 

Here are the highlights of the latest updated SOPs on the implementation of MCO (PKP) and CMCO (PKPB) released on February 9, 2021:

As more companies are going digital, it’s great to hear initiatives such as ones by The Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), who recently disbursed RM2.35 million worth of grants benefiting 47 grant recipients from small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and start-up sectors.

With Chinese New Year around the corner, here are the highlights from the latest SOPs:

Family Reunion dinner
- Allowed on 11th February, 2021
- Limited to 15 family members, only if they are within 10KM radius
- Not allowed: interstate/inter-district travel

Religious activity at temples
- On 11th, 12th & 19th February 2021
- Worshippers must not exceed 30 people at a time
- Religious activities are from 6am – 2pm
- Worship is permitted at night within personal compound of worshiper’s own home based on the Hokkien clan’s celebration tradition
- Time limit for praying is 30 minutes, followed by sanitation works for another 30 minutes before next prayers resume
