As we take the next great leap to IR4.0, we are not only looking at a technological revolution, but a productivity revolution too. Hence, we clearly understand the importance of Standards which enable technology to work seamlessly and establish business confidence so that markets can operate productively.

We enjoyed our meeting with Mr. Shaharul Sadri Alwi, DG of Standards Malaysia and his team today; exchanging thoughts to increase European community's awareness on Malaysian standards as well as to explore opportunities to stimulate EU-Malaysia cooporation in related topic areas.

SMEs play an essential role in the Malaysian economy, contributing more than 1/3 of the Malaysian GDP and providing over 4 million job opportunities in Malaysia. We had a great discussion with Mr. Yap Keng Teck, National Vice President of SME Association of Malaysia today to further explore the potential in working together to facilitate the challenges faced by SMEs business community in Malaysia as well as to identify new business opportunities and provide relevant support for sustainable business growth.

We found that the timber trade between EU-Malaysia has been experiencing minimal growth over the past 5 years. Hence, we would like to talk to the industry stakeholders on potential challenges and explore new business opportunities together.

Many thanks to Mr. Mohd Kheiruddin and Malaysian Timber Industry Board secretariat for the thoughtful arrangement to introduce and connect us with a number of Timber related associations in Malaysia today. We agreed to establish a continuous dialogue!

At EUROCHAM Malaysia, we organised our first upgraded EUROCHAM Automotive Committee Meeting following our rebranding. We brainstormed ideas and the future direction of the industry with our industry experts. The committee is currently working on a comprehensive list of recommendations to the Ministry of Transport for the benefit of a sustainable and prosperous automotive sector in Malaysia.

At EUROCHAM Malaysia, we understand the challenges of businesses in securing the right funding for its different phases of development.

It was a pleasure to meet with Dato’ Charon Wardini bin Mokhzani, Group Managing Director of MIDF GROUP and his team today afternoon. We explored the potential to collaborate in establishing relevant funding for the benefit of the EU-Malaysia business community as well as the potential to leverage on MIDF research’s informative analysis for interesting EUROCHAM webinar topics.
