On the 17th of June 2025, EUROCHAM Malaysia launched the Central & Eastern European Business Circle (CEEBC) — a new platform under our umbrella designed to connect, promote, and support professionals and businesses with ties to the CEE region in Malaysia.

The launch was officiated by H.E. Ambassador Rafael Daerr, Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Malaysia, whose strong support reinforced the need for a dedicated framework for CEE voices to address their regional challenges and concerns when doing business in Malaysia.

Mr. Karl Godderis, CEO of EUROCHAM Malaysia, emphasised that in light of the Free Trade Agreement discussions, there is a unique opportunity for CEE businesses to voice their concerns in increasing their presence in Malaysia through this new platform.

Mr. Reinhart Zimmermann, Head of Advantage Austria Malaysia, reaffirmed Advantage Austria’s commitment to working together with CEE businesses in assisting them with market access and knowledge sharing.

Ms. Kati Ferry, who was the driving force behind CEEBC, highlighted the importance of regional collectivism and partnerships leveraging this new business platform to enable greater CEE businesses to open up shop in Malaysia.

With over 100 attendees, including the Romanian Ambassador to Malaysia, H.E. Nineta Bărbulescu, and the Croatian Ambassador to Malaysia, H.E. Ivan Velimir Starčević, trade counsellors and business leaders, the evening was a celebration of European partnership in Malaysia.

A warm thank you to our Strategic Partner, Speenar, for supporting the launch and championing digital trust and cyber resilience between Malaysia and the CEE region.
