    EUROCHAM Malaysia was honoured to be invited to the esteemed IDFR Distinguished Lecture Series, in a captivating event titled 'When Elephants Fight, Will ASEAN Get Trampled?'. The event saw the convergence of notable personalities, including YBhg. Dato’ Dr Shazelina Zainul Abidin, Director General of IDFR, the distinguished lecturer Professor Kishore Mahbubani, Distinguished Fellow at the Asia Research Institute, National University of Singapore, and the moderator YBhg. Dato’ Dr Ilango Karuppannan, Adjunct Professor at the University of Malaya.

    EUROCHAM Malaysia organised a Courtesy Call on the Deputy Secretary-General (Finance) of The Ministry of Health (MOH), YBhg. Dato' Sri Norazman Ayob today. In a dynamic gathering, YBhg. Dato' Sri Norazman Ayob, Deputy Secretary-General (Finance) of the Ministry of Health, led an insightful discussion with representatives from various divisions within MOH, EUROCHAM Malaysia Board of Director, Mr Jordi Pol, EUROCHAM Malaysia CEO, Mr Sven Schneider, EUROCHAM Malaysia team and esteemed Healthcare Sector Committee Members.

     

    The meeting proved to be an excellent platform for open dialogue, allowing both sides to delve into the pressing issues and challenges faced by the healthcare industry. The Healthcare Sector Committee actively voiced their concerns, seeking clarifications on specific matters, and received satisfactory responses from the knowledgeable YBhg. Dato' Sri Norazman Ayob.

     

    To further solidify and support the alliance for a more fruitful collaboration between the EU and Malaysia, EUROCHAM Malaysia looks forward to arranging additional discussions with The Ministry of Health (MOH) in the future.

  • MITI Dialogue Management System Familiarisation Workshop
    EUROCHAM Malaysia was invited to participate in the MITI Dialogue Management System (DMS) Familiarisation Workshop today alongside YBhg. Datuk Hanafi Sakri, Deputy Secretary General - Industry.

    MITI has now introduced its brand new Dialogue Management System (DMS) to streamline the process for businesses, organisations, and chambers. Previously, it was a manual process using Word documents, but with MITI DMS, businesses can now address relevant issues and propose suggestions effortlessly through the user-friendly system.

    We look forward to the upcoming round of MITI Dialogue in the first quarter of 2024, where we will continue to contribute to the dialogue and shape a vibrant business ecosystem.

  • Meeting with the President of Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR)

    EUROCHAM Malaysia CEO, Mr Sven Schneider, and the Deputy Head of the Education Sector Committee held a meeting with Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) today and were pleased to have received a warm welcome from Ir. Professor Dato' Dr Ewe Hong Tat, President of UTAR, and Ir. Dr Chua Kein Huat, Chairperson of the Centre for Railway Infrastructure and Engineering, to discuss potential collaborations.
     
    During the productive meeting, several exciting proposals were put forward, aiming to foster stronger ties and create mutually beneficial opportunities. EUROCHAM Malaysia expressed its intention to explore research partnerships for EU-Malaysia businesses, trade, and investment. By joining forces, we aim to unlock new insights and drive innovation in various sectors.

     

    EUROCHAM Malaysia is also eager to explore opportunities in establishing a government relations course and promoting advocacy-related workshops for students pursuing Political Science, Economy, and International Relations. This initiative aims to equip future leaders with the necessary skills to navigate the complexities of government affairs.
     
    Furthermore, additional collaborations were discussed, including workshops and seminars to enlighten supporting partners of UTAR on the EU sustainability agenda, particularly the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) framework. UTAR also extended a warm welcome to EUROCHAM Malaysia to visit their scenic Kampar campus.
     
    We anticipate holding more similar meetings to further strengthen and bolster alliances for a more prosperous EU-Malaysia partnership.

  • Czech-Malaysian Medical Devices Business Forum

    EUROCHAM Malaysia was invited to attend the Czech-Malaysian Medical Devices Business Forum that was focusing on exploring potential opportunities and collaborations with medical manufacturing companies that produces medical devices. Showcasing that the Czech government can be a good technical partner in the research development of medical devices.

     

    It was a fruitful event with the attendance and opening remarks by the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Malaysia, H.E. Milan Hupcej, an address of Chief Guest, H.E. Mr Jiří Kozák, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, industry views by Mr Johari Abu Kasim, President of Malaysian Medical Device Manufacturers Association (PERANTIM), and Introduction of Czech Association of Manufacturers and Suppliers of Medical Devices by Mr Petr Foit, Vice President of Association of Manufacturers and Suppliers of Medical Devices.

     

    During the event, we witnessed the signing of the MoU between Mr Petr Foit, Vice President of the Association of Manufacturers and Suppliers of Medical Devices and Mr Johari Abu Kasim, Malaysian Medical Device Manufacturers Association.

     

    We thank the Embassy of the Czech Embassy Kuala Lumpur for inviting us to attend such an insightful event - we look forward to attending more events like these to strengthen and bolster alliances for a prosperous EU-Malaysia partnership.
