[JOINT PRESS STATEMENT] ON THE LAUNCH OF VACCINATED TRAVEL LANES

A joint press statement has been issued by the Prime Minister of Malaysia and Prime Minister of The Republic of Singapore regarding On The Launch of Vaccinated Travel Lanes – joint press statement as follows:

Prime Minister of Malaysia Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob and Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong spoke on the phone on 8 November 2021.

The Prime Ministers recognised that COVID-19 has disrupted people to people connections between the two countries, and separated families for many months. Given the significant progress that both countries have made in vaccinating their respective populations and managing the COVID-19 pandemic, the Prime Ministers agreed that it is timely to progressively resume cross-border travel between both countries, in a safe manner.

Here are the highlights of the latest updated SOPs for Phase 4 of the National Recovery Plan (NRP):

Areas Involved:

W.P. Labuan, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Melaka, Selangor, W.P. Kuala Lumpur, W.P. Putrajaya, Terengganu, Johor, Perlis, Perak, Pulau Pinang, Sabah and Kedah.

*This SOP must be read together with the Special SOP of the Federal Territory of Labuan.

** For Sabah, please refer to the National Recovery Plan - SOP Phase 4 Sabah.

*** For areas enforced by EMCO, the EMCO SOP in the area is effective until the expiry date of the EMCO.

Effective Period:

For W.P. Labuan starts on 26 August 2021 (starting 12.01 am).

For Negeri Sembilan starting on 24 September 2021 (starting 12.01 am).

For the State of Pahang starting on 8 October 2021 (starting 12.01 am).

For the State of Melaka, Selangor, W.P. Kuala Lumpur and W.P. Putrajaya starts on 18 October 2021 (starting 12.01 am).

For the States of Terengganu and Johor starting on 25 October 2021 (starting 12.01 am).

For the States of Perlis, Perak, Penang, Sabah and Kedah starting on 8 November 2021 (from 12.01 am)

** For areas enforced by EMCO, the EMCO SOP in the area is effective until the expiry date of the EMCO.

Effective Period:

Starting on 16 August 2021 (starting 12.01am).

*For Kelantan, starting on 18 October 2021 (starting 12.01 am).

[MEDIA STATEMENT] NATIONAL RECOVERY PLAN PHASE TRANSITION AND SOP RELAXATION

A media statement has been issued by Senior Minister of Defence Malaysia regarding National Recovery Plan Phase Transition and SOP Relaxation – media statement as follows:

A. National Recovery Plan (NRP) Phase Transition

Taking into account the current risk assessment conducted by the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) and the National Security Council (NSC), COVID-19 Pandemic Management Special Committee agrees to the transition of the NRP Phase for the following states effective 8 November 2021:

Moving from Phase 3 to Phase 4: Perlis, Perak, Penang, Sabah and Kedah.

The Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for states entering Phase 4 are the same as before. The latest SOP information will be updated by MKN on the official website www.mkn.gov.my.
