EY will be hosting a webinar on Data Privacy Regulations in APAC – impact, trends and what lies ahead on Thursday, 8 July 2021 at 10AM.

The webinar will discuss on data privacy and protection in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic with the adoption of digital transformation. Organisations have primarily treated data privacy and protection as regulation-driven compliance requirements and not as a strategic priority – with the ever-increasing cyber threat actors, organisations now need to rethink how they respond to this new landscape.

As previously announced, the Government will step up comprehensive enforcement in terms of inspections at factories and business premises due to too many violations of gazetted government directives and SOPs.

Cumulatively, the Compliance Operations Task Force team has conducted 98,376 COVID-19 inspections and snap checks nationwide with a total strength of 20,701 members.

Here are the latest implementation parameters for the phases of the National Recovery Plan. The details for the main sector/parameter are as follows: 

- Manufacturing 

- Construction 

- Trade Distribution 

- Agriculture and Commodities 

- Mining and Quarrying 

- Other services 

The implementation of the Selangor Vaccination Programme (Selvax) by the state government along with additional doses provided by the Special Committee on Covid-19 Vaccine Supply will lead to a projected vaccination rate of 165,000 by August, said Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.

He said once the programme begins, Selangor is expected to see 135,000 doses administered by the end of July.

“With the Selvax programme, we target an addition to the vaccination capacity reaching 43,500 doses a day,” Amirudin said during a special live-stream presentation.

This will be accomplished through 26 locations which include vaccination centres (PPV) community halls, mobile PPVs, health clinics, and private hospitals around Klang Valley.
