The Ministry of Human Resources issued a media release regarding Foreign Workers Employment Flexibility Plan And Recalibration Plan For Unauthorized Foreign Immigrants 2.0 – media release as follows:

Follow-up from the Foreign Worker Management Special Meeting which was chaired by YAB Prime Minister on January 10, 2023, things that have been agreed upon are as follows:

(i) the creation of a special plan which is the Relaxation Plan of Foreign workers driven by the projected needs of the foreign workforce by employment sectors of foreign workers in Malaysia;

(ii) a series of working visits by Malaysian delegations to countries selected resources to be implemented by the Ministry of Home Affairs in collaboration with the Ministry of Human Resources and Regulatory Agencies (AKS) that are related. The working visit aims to discuss the safety and welfare of foreign workers in Malaysia as well as to ensure objectives of the Foreign Worker Employment Relaxation Plan are attainable;

(iii) The implementation of the PATI 2.0 Recalibration Plan specifically for the Workforce Recalibration Program is until December 2023.

The Ministry of Human Resources issued a media statement regarding the Implementation of the Relaxation Plan of Employment of Foreign Workers – media statement as follows:

1. The Government has announced the implementation of the Relaxation Plan for the Employment of Foreign Workers to speed up the application process and the approval of the employment of foreign workers in critical sectors. In this connection, the KSM would like to inform that the implementation of this program will be implemented for critical sectors / sub-sectors as follows:

i. Manufacturing

ii. Construction

iii. Farming

iv. Agriculture

v. Service (Restaurant only)
