A successful EU Indo Pacific Energy Conference.
Day 1 - Achieving Energy Security Through Diversification
We thank all our esteemed VIPs and participants who attended our EU Indo Pacific Energy Conference which was organised by the European Union in Malaysia together with EUROCHAM Malaysia happened within the last 2 days.
The EU has launched the EU Energy Platform to pool demand, coordinate infrastructure use and negotiate with international partners to facilitate joint gas and hydrogen purchases. In parallel, the EU contributes to the global clean and just energy transition and is working with partners towards ensuring sustainable, secure and affordable energy worldwide, by boosting energy efficiency and the development of renewables.
Our event was graced by our esteemed VIPs that includes:
- Y.B. Tuan Rafizi Ramli, Minister of Economy, Malaysia;
- Mr Gunnar Wiegand, Managing Director for Asia and the Pacific at the European External Action Service (EEAS);
- Ms Kessy Sawang, Deputy Minister of International, Trade & Investment, Papua New Guinea;
- Mr Matthew Baldwin, Deputy Director General of the Directorate General for Energy (DG ENER);
- H.E. Tibor Stelbaczky, Ambassador at Large for Energy Diplomacy of the European External Action Service (EEAS); and
- H.E Michalis Rokas, Ambassador & Head of EU Delegation.
The conference provided a platform to exchange on short-, medium- and long-term gas and LNG supply and demand outlook and policies, to discuss production, transportation and shipping, as well as the whole value chain infrastructure development. As well as a discussion on sustainability challenges in the energy sector together with supply and demand shifts in the context of current geopolitics. The conference was graced with amazing panels, and speakers and was able to meet many colleagues from Brussels as well as from the EU business community and diplomatic corps.
