The Ministry of Works (MOW) refers to the government's decision to implement the full Movement Control Order (MCO) nationwide from June 1 to June 14, 2021. 

To control the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the construction sector, all construction work nationwide should be stopped during this MCO period. However, exceptions are granted to the following works listed in Critical Services. 

The permitted activities in the Construction Sector are :- 

A. Critical maintenance and repair works, ie. work which if not continued could cause danger or harm to workers, the public or the environment 

B. Construction works involving major and critical public infrastructure 

C. Professional services/ consultants involved in construction works that are permitted to operate as listed in items (A) and (B) as above; and 

D. Services in the supply chain that involve construction works that are permitted to operate as in items (A) and (B) as above. 

All contractors involved in the projects listed above need to obtain new approval through CIMS CIDB on the website cims.cidb.gov.my for the MCO period starting June 1, 2021.
