[MEDIA RELEASE] LOADING AND UNLOADING OF NON-ESSENTIAL GOODS PERMITTED FOR EXPORT IMPORT ACTIVITIES

During the Total Lockdown (MCO 3.0) which started on 1 June and extended to 28 June 2021, the Ministry continued to monitor the status of warehouse and container yard capacities at ports and airports nationwide. It was found that some areas are approaching their maximum capacities during the MCO.

To alleviate the situation for logistics players and to clear capacity at the ports and airports, we welcome the National Security Council’s (MKN) decision to allow exporters and importers to perform loading/unloading of non-essential goods from 8:00am to 8:00pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays starting on Friday, 18 June 2021. This operation will also allow movement of non-essential goods (limited to stock in hand only) for importing and exporting to neighbouring countries. Operations for essential goods that have been granted MITI's letter are not subject to this arrangement.
