A media statement has been issued by the YAB Prime Minister regarding the Announcement of Sector Opening and Phase Transition – media statement as follows:

The Pandemic Management Special Committee meeting today agreed to allow a phase shift for the following states effective September 24, 2021:

•             Negeri Sembilan from Phase 3 to Phase 4

•             Pahang from Phase 2 to Phase 3

•             Johor from Phase 1 to Phase 2

This transition of phases is per the guidelines set by the National Recovery Plan (NRP) taking into account hospitalization for symptomatic cases, usage of ICU beds as well as percentages of full vaccination.

This decision is also made based on the current risk assessment made by the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) and the National Security Council (NSC).

Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for states entering Phases 2, 3 and 4, are the same as before. The latest SOP description will be updated by NSC on the official website www.mkn.gov.my.
