A media statement has been issued by the Ministry of Health Malaysia regarding Current Developments of Omicron's New Variant (B.1.1.529), Control and Preventive Measures in Malaysia – media statement as follows:

As of 30 November 2021, a total of 20 countries (18 of which reported import cases) have already reported Omicron VOC detection and a total of 203 out of 215 Omicron VOC cases have been reported on the Global Initiative on Sharing All Influenza Data (GISAID) website. The breakdown of the number of cases by country is as follows:
