EUROCHAM Malaysia received a warm welcome from the Special Officer of the Minister of Health, Dr Haji Helmy Haja Mydin and the team for a technical meeting. The delegation was led by Mr Sven Schneider, EUROCHAM Malaysia CEO alongside our esteemed members Mr Francesco Floris, EU Delegation to Malaysia, Ms Pear Lai, EUROCHAM Malaysia’s Board of Director and Corporate Affairs & Sustainability Director at Carlsberg Malaysia, Dr Mohd Emil, Head of the Healthcare Sector Committee of EUROCHAM Malaysia and General Manager Government Affairs & Market Access, ASEAN at B. Braun Malaysia, Mr Azhan Mokhtar, Fresenius Medical care, Mr Amir Sharif, BCN Smart Technologies, Mr Jegatheswaran Panderengen, Novartis Malaysia and Ms Jennifer Tang, Advantage Austria.
The technical meeting touched upon various issues with regard to the healthcare industry as such enhancing the development of healthcare infrastructure, execution of the Home Care Act, and the efficiency of the policy implementation of the Poison Act. Other topics included the improvisation of the Food Regulations 1985 Act on Alcoholic Beverages, emphasising on digitalisation of the Malaysian healthcare system and increasing foreign equity participation.
The Ministry of Health has taken note of all the concerns that were raised during the technical meeting and will collaborate with EUROCHAM Malaysia and the industry players to prosper the Malaysian healthcare system. More engagement sessions will be conducted with MOH to bolster the cooperation of the EU-Malaysia partnership.
