[PRESS RELEASE] REBRANDING OF THE MINISTRY OF INTERNATIONAL TRADE AND INDUSTRY

The Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry issued a press release regarding the Rebranding Of The Ministry Of International Trade And Industry – press release as follows:

In line with YAB Prime Minister's decision in the Cabinet Meeting dated 5 April 2023, the name of the Kementerian Perdagangan Antarabangsa dan Industri (Ministry of International Trade and Industry) has been rebranded and is now known as KEMENTERIAN PELABURAN, PERDAGANGAN DAN INDUSTRI or in English, MINISTRY OF INVESTMENT, TRADE AND INDUSTRY, retaining the same acronym which is "MITI".

This rebranding coincides with the Ministry's functions in leading and being responsible for encouraging foreign investments, empowering local investments, strengthening international trade and empowering sustainable industrial development.

This decision is also in line with the Government's aspirations to further boost promotional activities for investment as outlined in the National Investment Aspirations for the continued development in rebuilding the national economy as outlined in the principle of Civil Malaysia.
