EUROCHAM Malaysia Joins MITI's Industry Engagement

On the 21st of July 2025, EUROCHAM Malaysia joined the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI)’s Sales and Services Tax (SST) Industry Engagement, chaired by Deputy Secretary-General (Industry), YBhg. Datuk Hanafi Sakri.
The session brought together the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturing (FMM) and key business associations to discuss concerns over SST charges, especially on essential machinery and manufacturing aids. There was broad consensus: such measures risk driving up operating costs and undermining industry productivity.
#EUROCHAM echoes the call for expanded exemptions under Schedule B4 to safeguard competitiveness and structured stakeholder engagement before major policy shifts.
Final recommendations will be presented to Prime Minister YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim at the upcoming National Investment Council (NIC) meeting.
We thank MITI for providing a platform for associations to share our concerns and ensure our voices are heard and acted upon.
