On the 5th of August 2025, EUROCHAM Malaysia co-hosted the EU Business Engagement Event with the Delegation of the European Union to Malaysia and the EU-Malaysia Cooperation Facility, serving as a strategic platform to engage EU businesses on the progress and next steps of the Malaysia–EU Free Trade Agreement (MEUFTA).
EUROCHAM CEO Mr. Karl Godderis and EU Delegation’s Head of Trade and Economic Relations, Mr. Denis Baresch, shared key updates on the FTA’s objectives and EUROCHAM’s role in the industry consultation process. As negotiations continue, EUROCHAM Malaysia is in the process of launching the MEUFTA Industry Survey to gather insights on key industry needs, challenges, and priorities that will help shape a more impactful trade agreement.
We will work together with bilateral chambers to ensure we actively reach a broad range of EU businesses in Malaysia and capturing industry-specific perspectives to inform the next phase of negotiations.
