EUROCHAM Malaysia held a fruitful courtesy call with the Deputy Minister of Finance II, YB Steven Sim. The courtesy call was attended by H.E. Michalis Rokas, EU Ambassador and Head of the EU Delegation, Oliver Roche, Chairman of EUROCHAM Malaysia, Sven Schneider, CEO of EUROCHAM Malaysia, Pearl Lai, EUROCHAM Board of Directors and representative of DanCham Malaysia, Donal Crotty, President of the Irish Chamber of Commerce Malaysia and Marco Winter, Executive Director of the Malaysian Dutch Business Council.

During the meeting, there were several key discussions surrounding the current stance on the EU-Malaysia Free Trade Agreement, taxation, and customs. EUROCHAM Malaysia was interested to seek a better understanding of MOF’s current position regarding the topics mentioned as it is important in promoting economic cooperation and enhancing trade relations between Europe and Malaysia.

To further strengthen and support the alliance for a more fruitful collaboration between the EU and Malaysia, EUROCHAM Malaysia looks forward to arranging more discussions with the Ministry of Finance in the future.
